INN Ovation

Back in December I decided to leave the comforts of my new southern digs and put myself on a plane to Boston. I planned a little late, but found a place that was perfect. The Anchor-in in Hyannis Massachusetts! It was off season and I felt so fortunate to be welcomed there. That’s exactly how I felt from the moment I called. Like I was going to stay as a guest in someone’s waterfront home. And that relationship only got better when I checked in.

My intention was to try and meet with some people at Cape Air for an article I wanted to write on them. But my time got away from me. I was totally blown away by how fun Cape Cod is in the winter.

The Anchor Inn is nestled into a nice little section of the Hyannis Harbor, just outside town. It’s so close to the Steamship ferry you could walk there for a day trip to Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard. Though the Vineyard is quicker from Woods Hole.

The beds are soft. Every room has a view of the harbor. The heat is quiet and the showers are hot. The house keeping staff is like a group of ninjas that silently work around your schedule. I never heard a knock on any door in 4 days.

I can’t say I ever vacationed on Cape. But I’ve made lots of day trips.

It seemed like everywhere I needed to be was maximum an hour drive.

A two minute drive gets you to Mass Bay where you can get many name brand shoes and other clothing.

Countless Restaurants and coffee shops line the main street.

The Anchor In was a great place to spend a holiday with people I adore. It’s an easy drive from Logan or TF Green.

Matter of fact I think it’s time to make my next reservation. And hopefully finish that piece on CapeAir.
